about
A rumination on control and delay.
‘The River Runs from the Weather Maker’ is an antipodean exploration of the relationship between sound and vision, and the play of conventional hierarchies between them. It is a dialectic between two elements, a back-and-forth exchange of sound and visuals, leading to a synthesis that transcends the individual mediums and gives rise to an engaging, multi-sensory experience.
Similarly, the visual component is a clever play between abstract and representational imagery. Stirring memories of landscapes gazed through car windows on long drives overlaid with a kaleidoscopic pattern that flutters and sinks/syncs in and out of things we know and things we don't know. per sonar calls upon the visual narrative at key sonic moments which elicit echoes of memories, oneiric in nature, attempting to resurface.
